Our New Parish Website
See Below

Good news! As you may already know, we now have an official parish website.

This can be found at www.eastbrentparishcouncil.org.uk

Much of the information carried in this Rooksbridge website will now be taken on by the official parish website.

After more than 12 years running this Rooksbridge village website, I feel that the new site which will be professionally designed, published and funded by the Parish Council, will be a vast improvement.

As many of you have found, some of the links etc on this site no longer function correctly!  This is mainly due to the outdated software I use and the fact that website technology has vastly improved over all these years.
So I thought it would be a good time pass on the reins to the professionals!

I would like to thank all those kind and helpful people who have submitted items of news and information etc which has helped keep the Rooksbridge site interesting over the years.

The new East Brent parish website has portals for 'Parish Council Information' and also

a 'Community' portal where you may post your event or other community related items.

For more information about the new parish website and posting items, you can contact

webadmin@eastbrentparishcounil.org.uk  or  theclerk@eastbrentparishcouncil.org.uk

For the many contacts I have made regarding the history of the village, the new website will also have a 'History' portal organised by the

East Brent Parish History Group.

Meanwhile for now, you can still find the village history and genealogy pages here at:

Seeking information about the men of East Brent who served in World War One.

2014 is the centenary of the declaration of WW1. We would like to commemorate the 80 or so men from east Brent parish who served in the conflict.

Did your East Brent relative serve or do you know anyone who may have a family relative who served in the conflict.

We are also looking for the stories of the later lives of those men who returned.

Any information, copies of photos, service records and memorabilia would be greatly appreciated.

Please contact; John Rigarlsford at jonrig@rooksbridge.org.uk Thank you!

Welcome to East Brent Parish Council Website!!

Below is a quote from the new parish website which explains its intended purpose.

Our Objective in designing this website was twofold.  Firstly The Parish Council wanted to create a website that informed all parishioners and interested parties of the work of the council and to make more readily available public documents which had previously only been available as hard copies upon request.

Secondly, we wanted to create a wider community site where organisations within the parish could also provide information about the work that they undertake.  We hope that this section of the website will grow and provide feedback to the parish council and inform future decisions to be made.

We also hope that organisations within the parish will find it a useful resource to  enable them to broadcast the voluntary work that they are undertaking within the community.

If you would like your village organisation to be included within the website please email webadmin@eastbrentparishcounil.org.uk

The website was created under the direction of a sub committee of The Parish Council, I should like to thank the committee for their hard work in creating what I hope parishioners will find a useful resource.

All parishioners in the villages of East Brent, Rooksbridge and Edingworth are stakeholders in our community and we would welcome comments on how we can improve the website.

Please email The Clerk at theclerk@eastbrentparishcouncil.org.uk with any feedback that you might have.

Please enjoy our website!!   www.eastbrentparishcouncil.org.uk
