Family records suggest that Temperance's father had a large farm at “West Town” Banwell (although no such place has been identified - can anyone clarify?). (Possibly West Town Backwell)? JR In 1839 she married George Augustus Hillman, who was from Worle where his father Edward farmed. Circa 1847 George and Temperance moved to Andersea Farm, Moorlands, Weston Zoyland, Somerset where Albert Edward and his brother Frank were born. In 1853 George Augustus died, and Temperance took a dairy nearby at Lyng Court to provide work for her older son George Frederick and later for Frank. However by 1881 she was living with George Frederick and his wife Temperance (nee Minty), at Stawell. Albert Edward was brought up at North Petherton by his Uncle and Aunt, Henry Avery, born Banwell, and Jane (nee Hillman). It has recently come to light that Temperance was first married to John Bishop in 1832 and lived for a while at East Brent, confirmed by the fact that George's first 4 children were born there. At his diamond wedding in 1935 Albert Edward advised that his grandfather was an Edward Hillman of Worle and his mother was Temperance nee Hicks who's father farmed “in a big way” at Town End, Banwell, Parents: ?
