By 1900, when Marie was 4, the family had moved to Bristol and were making a success of an upholstery business. She married Hubert Cecil Shipley on 16th May 1921 at St Andrews Church, Montpelier, Bristol. They had three children and spent the whole of their married life in Bristol. See notes re. Hubert Cecil Shipley. After her husband's death in 1961 Marie moved to 32, Elicott Rd. Horfield and her younger brother Eric lived there with her. I can remember Grandma Marie quite well and have fond memories of the house at 12 Egerton Road where the family lived until Hubert died. Uncle Alec, Aunt Joyce and Nick lived on the top floor in a self-contained flat, whilst son Gerald used the front downstairs room as a bed-sit until his marriage in 1957. Marie died on 3rd January 1974 at the Bristol Royal Infirmary. Her funeral was at Canford cemetery and she was cremated. Parents: George James MILLMAN and Emma RICH.
