school) and the girls would be instructed to say in chorus "good afternoon Mrs Wood". There is also a story of our grandmother seeing her brother on the day he died in the trenches of the first world war.She was, I'm told, a happy and lovely
woman, always smiling and, I would guess from the associated stories, deep and intuitive. She was, I believe, also a congregationalist andthere was no conflict between her religion and her spiritual/alternative nature" (Peter Dawson, from
